9 Steps to help myself NOW!
1.) Pace yourself. This is a lifelong marathon. There is no set time to
grieve, let go of any expectations of a ‘recovery time’.
2.) Deep breathing practices- gentle deep breathing multiple times
daily. Use the bottom of your lungs, focusing on the in take of
beautiful oxygen and the power of the exhale.
3.) Daily prayer/mediations. Even 5 minutes of quite reflection will
refresh the grieving brain and heart.
4.) Journal/type/write-let your words out, be honest, tell your truth.
5.) Cry out loud/scream/weep- let the sadness in your spirit out of
your body. If you don’t weep, your body will weep on your behalf.
6.) Eat good Food. Avoid processed food, food dyes, sodium, sugar,
etc. Reach for fresh fruits or vegetables, cheeses, meat, greens.
7.) HYDRATE drink water! Staying hydrated is incredibly important
when crying.
8.) Move gently. A small short walk, stretching, or yoga. Nothing too
taxing-just a little movement goes a long way.
9.) Reach out! Call/text/email/message a trusted source (Journey
